the one i posted today is MIRAGE, one of my favorites from TGB. it leans heavily towards my electronic and orchestral influences, but its still pretty dirty and grimy… cause it’s about fucking.

to be more specific, its about how fucking can lead to really fun times… and really-not-fun times.

lots of real world samples in that one also, which is something ive gotten back into lately… most interestingly, the ones at the end when it gets really nasty… it was a audio recording i had made to prove a point. its got some interesting reactions in there…

its also one of the first tracks i ever played a real piano on.

my piano, that i got from my good friend (and de facto big sister) Tish has been tucked away in storage for years cause its a drag and super expensive to get moved into my place in oakland… but it bums me out every time i think about it not being here. its a nasty old upright and the sound board is stamped 1888, meaning its really fucking old. you cant tune it at all for fear of destroying the piano itself (something to do with the internal tension) so whenever i tracked with it, id have to spend some time pitching things around to make it fit with all the other, actually in tune instruments.

anyways… heres “Mirage“. dig it.
